Plot / Movie Story / Movie Review

This movie starts with the titles showing amidst the background of Andhra Pradesh Legislature. The scene switches to the assassination of Sanjeevayya (played by Suman), the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on his way to Srisailam. The attack on the CM convoy is believed to have been made Naxals. The CM is shifted to a corporate hospital. His wife (played by Suhasini) rushes to the hospital and so does many politicians including the Deputy CM and the Home Minister. Suhasini comes to know that 5 other security personnel are dead in the incident and goes to console their families.

CMs son Arjun Prasad (played by Daggubati Rana) is called to the hospital. The last wish of Sanjeevayya is for his son Arjun to become the next Chief Minister. Pedananna (played by Kota Srinivasa Rao) arrives at the hospital and asks CMs wife and Arjun to be brave.

On the sidelines, Arjun's cousin Dhanunjay (Subbaraju) has his own dreams of becoming the CM. Arjun realizes that it's not in the best interest of the state for Dhanunjay to become the CM and so does Sanjeevayya. His uncle (played by Rao Ramesh) helps Dhanunjay in the process.

On a parallel note, a person Ali (played by Harsha Vardhan), who is on the wedge of committing suicide for having lost his Rs. 10 crores he gave to the CM. Ali speaks to Arjun and explains how he paid various bureaucrats and ministers to get back his land. He comes to know corrupt his father was and how his father has taken bribes worth crores of rupees and kept them with various people around him. His honest car driver Rajanna also has pretty handsome money with him that was given by Sanjeevayya. Arjun's mother explains about the inability of Sanjeevayya to fight corruption and how he himself ended up corrupt. She wished Arjun become CM and bring a corruption-free regime. Arjun understands this by reading his father's diary.

To become the CM, Arjun needs a lot of money. He collects the black money earned by his father earned as the CM in buying the MLAs and ends up being the CM. In the processes, he hires Ali as his assistant and due to circumstances have to keep a reporter Ratna Prabha too with him. He gives crores of rupees to the MLAs on guise that his father instructed him to give the money to them and thereby buys the MLAs. Thus, Arjun manages the turmoil in the organization of the state government. He takes up Chief Secretary Sharma (played by Tanikella Bharani).

One night, he receives a call from a remote village. The caller, a reporter, Archana (played by Richa Gangopadhyay), explains about a fasting and close to death fighter who might be of help to the CM. Tired Arjun ignores the call and suggests her to contact the Social Welfare Ministry. But the next morning he sips tea given by his mother and realizes having made a mistake the night before. So, he, along with his convoy, goes to the villages and convinces the fasting fighter and hence becomes close with Archana. The next few scenes show how Arjun appears honest and becomes close to Archana while distancing himself from Reporter Prabha. Despite being CM, he meets Archana many times, gives up smoking and finally proposes her. He brings her cake on her birthday and spends the night there. However, he receives a phone call and he leaves her house all of a sudden. The next footage is at Lumbini Park where a bomb blast has occurred. Dhananjay tries to make good of the situation and charges Arjun's Government as useless. Arjun's Government runs into problems as his dream of eradicating corruption does not go well with the legislators. In the process of buying MLAs, he has to release the son of a MLA who is charged with molesting a village girl. Arjun realizes that he too is getting into dirty politics, speaks with the father of the diseased girl and instructs his senior police man, secretary Sharma and assistant Ali that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has to raid and unearth black-money lying with politicians and their relatives. He instructs that all television channels should show how much money is being recovered on an hourly basis. He says that he will meet the Governor at 8:00 pm and submit his resignation. He tells the police that by 8:10 pm the son of the MLA should be killed. As planned, the ACB unearths record sums. Arjun resigns as CM. Dhananjay attempts to become the CM but fails because of lack of support from a group. This forces a mid-term election. Arjun forms a new party, tour the state, picks up candidates who are close to the people, wins the election with a majority and again becomes the Chief Minister.
